At the beginning of each year, we submit our new releases for the appreciation of the world’s largest wine competition, Decanter World Wine Awards. Earliest this month, we received the results — 3 new medals for Quinta do Tedo!
Porto Vintage 2023 - 96 points - Gold
"Sullen and tense with crushed black cherries and cinnamon aromas unfolding onto plush texture and broad tannins. Dark chocolate and Victoria plums frame the finish.” — Decanter. Head Winemaker Jorge Alves describes the 2023 harvest as “classic and concentrated, with elegance and focused acidity. Intense ripe fruit and an extraordinary structure (…), an almost immortal Vintage.”
Porto Late Bottled Vintage 2021 - 91 points - Silver
"Restrained on the nose, touches of ribena, liquorice bark and plums. Lovely structure and elegance on the palate. Vibrant finish.” — Decanter. As Jorge puts it, this as “an elegant, textured, and complex wine with great aging potential. Enjoy it, now and within 10-15 years of aging.”
Douro DOC Reserva 2022 - 89 points - Bronze
“Blackberry, violet and cinnamon lead into black cherry and sage, with fresh acidity and savoury structure.” Jorge recalls this was “harvested during a hot year, resulting in a more concentrated profile. A blend with a greater expression of Touriga Nacional.”

This 23rd edition of Decanter World Wine Awards united 245 international wine experts (including 63 Masters of Wine and 24 Master Sommeliers) from 35 countries to evaluate 17,000 wines from 58 countries. The results confirm the increasing quality and diversity the global wine sector continues to evolve towards.
