Wine ratings, scores and awards are reference points; information to add to the memory bank of both the novice wine drinker and the wine aficionado. While not the end-all to our winery’s success, we do care how we are regarded by wine writers and how we stack up in competitions. They are a way for a winery to become known. Those who have visited our winery have a first-hand experience via a comprehensive tour followed by a technical tasting, a success reflected in our tasting room sales and word-of-mouth promotion of Quinta do Tedo. We work with effective and faithful importers, helping us become better known through distribution channels. Our products are sold in stores by knowledgeable and competent wine staff. We are appreciative of this help; we strive to produce excellent quality products and in return we have wonderful support by those who have visited us and who work with us. But we also know that the wine consumer looks at scores, ratings and awards; understandable with the sheer number of ports and wines on the market today, that can be daunting when trying to choose a bottle!
