The historic Savedra Vineyard is Quinta do Tedo's premier parcel. Planted on a series of small, sun-drenched terraces that cascade dramatically down the rocky slope to the Tedo River, these vines produce our most concentrated, velvety fruit.
Nestled in the heart of Portugal's Alto Duoro, our 18th Century estate is bordered by the Tedo and the Duoro rivers. Our Single Quinta classification is the Portuguese equivalent of an Estate of Domaine, and all Quinta do Tedo's vineyards are Class A, the highest rating from the Portuguese Instituto do Vinho do Porto.
The Vintage 2000 Porto Savedra was aged for two years in large French oak tanks before bottling. The grapes were picked very ripe and slightly dehydrated, further increasing the flavor intensity.

WINE NEWS, Feb/Mar, 2003: Quinta do Tedo Vintage 2000: Saturated, dark ruby color. Noticeably forward fruit aromas of cassis and plum as well as hints of mocha and mint. The wine is quite big in the mouth with a lush texture and moderately intense, well-defined black fruit flavors of currant, blackberry and plum. Good length and fine tannic grip on the close. 90 Point Score.
Bon Appétit Magazine, U.S.A.: Quinta do Tedo winner of BEST OF NATION PORTUGAL 2000 and 2001.
Stephen Tanzer writes in the International Wine Cellar Newsletter: "Medium ruby - offering notes of shoe polish, mint and oak, with some herbal high tones. Fat and sweet, with slightly medicinal flavors of black cherry and cherry and chocolate cough syrup - has personality". 87 Points. (Jan/Feb 03 Issue
