Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Porto is considered to be but half a step away from Vintage Porto. It is made as a separate Porto style. As with Vintage Porto, the grapes come from one harvest, but this wine is aged in wood longer, up to 6 years. Small oak barrels accelerate aeration and allow the wine to mature into a Porto ready to drink immediately after bottling. LBVs do not necessarily need to age in the bottle.
Quinta do Tedo LBV 1994 méthode traditionnelle was aged for 4 years in 60 gallon (225 liter) French oak barrels, and bottled unfiltered in 1998. It is a Single Quinta Porto, its grapes harvested from our 40 year old vines. Its rich, vibrant flavor of ripe fruit is scented with hints of wild rock rose.
Quinta do Tedo LBV 1994 can be consumed young, to delight in its fruit and freshness, poured as an aperitif, or sipped for any occasion. It can sbe enjoyed directly off the retail shelf at rooms temperature.
Try Quinta do Tedo LBV 1994 from Portugal's Douro Valley (Valley of Gold), and discover the very heart of Porto.
