Restoration Continues: From the day that we purchased Quinta do Tedo our philosophy has been to respect the history and long-established traditions of the property, to restore it to it's original state and to practice winemaking techniques as they have for centuries. With this goal in mind we continue to refurbish and upgrade all areas of the estate in the most traditional ways possible. From terraces in the vineyards to new buildings and equipment we are giving Quinta do Tedo a face lift.
New Vineyards: As we have done from the beginning we are continuing to restore, and craft new, stone wall terraces. Once this structural renovation is complete we will plant new vineyards in these parcels.
New Facilities: At the Quinta, we are constructing two new state-of-the-art storage facilities. One will be a temperature and humidity controlled warehouse for our bottled Portos. The second will be a warehouse for our oak barrels and tanks. We still use the original buildings for our winemaking and storage, however, these ancient structures are 100 and 250 years old. Soon the winery and lodging facilities will be fully restored. At that time we will be able to have visitors come and stay with us!
