Style: Douro DOC Red Wine
Climate: Tempered Mediterranean; very low yearly rainfall (500mm/18in); dry, hot summer.
Grapes: Touriga Nacional (60%), Touriga Franca (30%) and Tinta Cão (10%)
Winemaking: Hand-picked; pre-fermentation maceration for 3 days, alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature, maceration after fermentation 7 days; post-fermentation for 5 days. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks (40%) and in French oak barrels (60%).
Ageing: 18 months in 225 liter/60 gallon new French oak barrels.
